I don't know a lot about computers and specs, so i would like to know if these specs for a pc are good, if they would fit in the case and if they all work and fit together, thanks :) i'm on a budget of around £600 - also i have no idea what category to put this in haha.

These components are all compatible with each other. However i would go for an i3 4340, it's as powerful as a 3470 but it's cheaper runs cooler and uses less power. It's also more future proof. If you decide to go for this core instead make sure you change the motherboard to a socket-1150 motherboard. The one linked below will work fine.

also since a hard-drive is what determines how fast a computer is, a western digital caviar black seems much more attractive.

Can go Ivy bridge or Haswell - and sorry the hard drive has little to do with how fast a system runs, especially with platter drivers, unless you go to a slow or 'eco' friendly that spins at 5400 RPM, most platter drives are 7200 RPM and data load is only as fast as the disk spins - there is basically little to No difference at all between the WD Blue drive and the Black except marketing - this is something WD has played for a while now
