This is what I have put together for a friend. He has practically no budget restrictions, but still didn't want to go all the way to the titan, as it's an overkill:)

Why do you need an i7? I mean if he has no budget limit fine, but he wont be using the processor to it's full potential if he's just going to game on the machine. An i5 4670k would do just the trick and is already great for gaming.

The rest is pretty rock solid. Great CPU cooler and silent too. Make sure the RAM fits under the cooler as the cooler is very large.

If you don't want the titan but you want something comparable, then the AMD R9 290x would be killer. Look out for the GTX780ti as well since it's the direct competitor to the 290x.

Good work on the build. I'm not a fan of the HAF X because I find it plain ugly, but that, of course, is purely subjective.

I will recommend him the i5 4670k;)
P.s.: I love HAF X case because it has so much room and good air flow.

Oh I know the HAF X is a great case on the technical aspect. I would say its considered a hall of fame case. However, I like sleek cases something along the lines of Fractal Design R4 or Corsair Obsidian series.
