Dose the asus m5a97 le r2.0 motherboard have a USB 3.0 header for a case? If not are there any other boards in the £50 to £60 price range for the AMD Fx 6300 CPU? As I am doing a budget build.

spec said yes
Actually the spec says no. There are 3 internal headers, but they are USB 2.0 not 3.0 for a total of 6 additional "front" or other USB ports. You must have mistaken the 3x header count for 3.0.
I have this board and no, it does not have an internal USB 3.0 header.

Wait....so are you saying my 3.0 ports on my case are...useless?
I would say they are useless. I came to this issue last night. I have a Corsair Carbide 300R with front USB 3.0, nowhere to connect it on the mobo though. Only solution I can think of is to get a USB 3.0 PCI card with internal header.
yes, there are cable adapters for usb 3.0 to 2.0 headers. I just bought the mobo from newegg as part of a combo. It advertises true 3.0 usb yet only has 2.0 headers ON the motherboard. ( Someone screwed the pooch ). So the case front 3.0 usb cable has nothing to plug into. I've had to order an adapter from newegg to make the front panel usb work.
Even the driver disk installs enhanced 3.0 usb drivers. There just isn't anywhere on the mobo to plug in a 3.0 usb case/tower
cable.
