Power save mode, still.

I recently began updating my computer, piece by piece, and a few weeks after I finished, it started going into power save mode randomly.
Gigabyte 970a-ud3 motherboard
Amd fx8350 processor
7970 ghz edition vid card
Corsair h60 cooler
All packaged neatly into a beautiful haf 932 case.

At first, I realized that the problem was that the liquid cooler had stopped working, and was causing the cpu to overheat and make the PC go into power save mode.
I ordered a h60, got it in today, it is working fine.
I loaded a brand new copy of windows onto a brand new hard drive in case it was a driver compatibility issue from the last hardware.
First boot, it comes up fine. Gets into windows, but then about 5 mins afterwards it goes into power save mode.
Computer remains on, yet the monitor is black.
So I check all the settings in the bios, make sure nothing is turned on that would cause that, nothing.
Then I turn the PC back on, and it gets to the windows logo, but then goes into power save mode as soon as the lights come together to make the windows sign.
Turn off, check bios again, nothing has changed.
Turn on, PSM at windows logo again.
Turn off/on again, loads to windows, stays for about 5 mins and goes to PSM again.
I'm desperate for your help.
I know someone out there can assist me.

Update.
Just tried to boot in safe mode with networking and it did the same thing.
Got to the black screen with white words loading all the drivers, as soon as that was over it went into PSM.

Update.
Plugged PC into new monitor (is a tv with hdmi port), with new cable, and it is working.
Just used new cable on old monitor, is working.
Can't see that a cable would be causing me all those problems, but I guess we'll see.

Alright, update.
New cord allowed me to get all drivers installed correctly. Stayed up for about 30 mins, but then when I opened a game, I let it sit for a second, and it went to power save mode in the log in screen of the game.
Guhh, so frustrating!
Any advice?

It's not just the one game, it's any game that I try.
I suspect it could be my PSU, so I downloaded a tool to monitor it, but I have no clue what I'm looking at.

Just tried a Direct X 10 game and it worked just fine, but I don't understand why it would be messing up with other games.
It obviously is not a hardware issue at this point.
Any feedback from someone else would be nice.
