My friends AMD FX-8150 is running at 3.3GHz while under a full load with the default BIOS settings and the latest BIOS. The only temperature on his system that gets pretty high is the motherboard, not the south bridge or the north-bridge, the heat-sinks located behind the CPU below the rear fan case. They are extremely hot to the touch. This is the only reason I can think of that would cause this to happen. Is this how this CPU is supposed to operate? I thought the low was 3.6GHz and the high was 4.2..
Any ideas of why this may be happening?
