Slow Boot Up

Until October, my system averaged only about 20 seconds to boot up and usually didn't even last long enough to finish the windows logo at the start. Now it not only finishes the logo and holds for 30 seconds, but black screens afterwards (my backlit keyboard and monitor turn off during this time) and that can last as long as 5 minutes or more. I have checked the event viewer and it really only lists a few programs and services as holding for any period of time. I have tried starting without any unnecessary services and NO starting programs. One error in particular is ID 110 SMSSInit which started the whole problem. I can't find any information on what to do about SMSSInit except some references to graphics drivers, but mine are up to date. Any suggestions?

Having an SSD that suddenly turns slow is a nightmare I really hope wont fulfill. SMSSInit is acutally related to Windows kernel according to this thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/sudden-slow-reboot/7e4d38c2-8c2e-4e19-a2aa-c60bb5b62b75

OP's problem was that he disabled a lot of services and then Windows updated. This would be solved directly by formatting Windows, but don't go that way yet. Have you run any shady programs lately? Scan your PC with various anti-virus programs. Any results?

I have not ran any shady programs that I know of (unless Blender, Unity, Logitech drivers and Razer drivers are shady o_O). I have scanned my system with Microsoft Security Essentials today and I run a quick scan everyday. One thing that bothers me is that when the desktop is finally pulled up, the first thing I see (even before the task bar) is MSE warning me that it is turned off. A few seconds later if I check it, MSE is turned back on.

I have already gone through my M4 firmware failing after 5200 hours, so that isn't it.

I know that my Razer and Logitech drivers are known to conflict with each other, but I have them disabled at startup (along with everything else and all non-microsoft services).

I have run CCleaner regularly. I have scanned with MSE everyday (including full scan today). I actually saw that thread while I was searching for solutions earlier. The steps in that thread pointed to enable SuperFetch, etc. which I think you cannot even use for an SSD.
