If you're trying to run an old piece of software/game the program might not be able to know what card you have and thus prompting you with that it isn't supported. right-click on the short-cut/.exe file, switch the tab to compatibility and run the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

Could you elaborate what games you're trying to run and what "mavis beacom typing app" is?

You probably just need to install the graphics driver. Do you know what graphics card you have? Or at least the pc model number?
