Currently I'm using a pic-e network card for wifi. I'm about 50-60' from my router and my signal stays at 2 bars most of the time sometimes 3. Would I get a better connection if I run a powerline?

If you use a pair of Zyxel PLA5205kit adapters you would get a better connection than wireless. The set I am working with now are getting 120Mbps with low latency -- over 3x faster than the last generation set (PLA4205) in the same locations. Of course, an Ethernet cable would be the best, but is often not possible.
