Hey guys, I recently had to install a wireless router due to getting married, and the wife needs wifi in the house.. Anyways I bought some 50$ netgear from walmart for the time being but am looking for something better. The reason I want better is because every hour or so I start getting red bar lags (high latency) while gaming. I never had this issue prior to the wireless router. I am direct plugged to the route,. It does this even if nothing else in the house is using wifi. So I know its not because she is sucking my internet connection dry. I have to reset the router to get it to stop lagging me in games.

What wireless router would you suggest for gaming around 100-150$ top? (I will be direct connected to the router)

I would get an ASUS RT-N56U and then return the wireless router to Walmart. While the 56U is a great wireless router, it is also the best in class at total throughput and wireless and wired. Take a look HERE. I've used a ton of them on installs and never had an issue. I only use the cheap stuff for low bandwidth APs.

There isn't a brand or model that is less prone to getting all messed up needing reset? because the cheapo I bought from walmart has the Ethernet connection and is a pile of garbage, or they all may just need reset, I am not sure.
