Hello my bf 4 settings are
everything on low
resolution 1920 1080 60hz
vsinc off
90 field of view
res scale 100%

In Spawn i get 100-125 FPS
When running around on the battlefield i get around 60 -70 fps. My ping is around 25.

But then all a sudden it quickly goes choppy for like a second making the fps go down to 30 or 40.

Geforce 660 twin frozrIII
AMD FX6100
8gb of ram

As the other guys have said, it's probably your CPU. Battlefield 4 does have tons of glitches and bugs though, so your problem might get fixed in the next few weeks when EA starts releasing updates. I would recommend getting a better GPU too, because soon it won't be able to cope with the latest games :p

yea but i find it weird that im getting 100+ fps in spawn screen and 60-70 fps on the battlefield and it randomly drops to 30/40 fps then jumpes right back to 60-70 fps....
Battlefield 4 system requirments
3 Ghz (i have a 3.3ghz)
8gb of memory on 64bit windows (i have 8gb)
A geforce 600 series (i have geforce 660)
win 64bit (windows 7 64 bit)
30+ gb of hard drisk space (i have 439gb of space left on my HDD)

No reason there should be a quick studder

Ok well that sounds like a driver issue. Make sure you have the latest drivers and then your problem will probably go away :)

Hi! You might want to check if you're not getting a RAM leakage. I was able to play the game just fine but when ingame I noticed my ram usage was 15.5/16gb. A driver (AMD though) update did the trick. Don't know if anything similar might be happening for Nvidia though. Just a thought =)..

there is a command you can run, it will show you if it is a cpu bottleneck causing the drop. In my case it was. (sorry I don't remember the command right now, but it draws a little graph)

Yes probably, although there's obviously something that EA should take care of. This game is full of issues.
