Hello! I have a question regarding my current cpu Intel i5 750 @ 4.0 GHZ, i recently got an MSI Twin Frozr GTX 780 card for my computer due to wanting to play at 60 FPS, the thing is that the card often lands at aroung 40-60 FPS even with just high settings in games like Batman Arkham City, Tomb Raider, and Metro last light this with using geforce experience to "optimize" the settings.

So i was wondering if it might be my CPU that is clogging up the pipe, i thought that it would be enough to run it at 4.0 GHZ but perhaps i need to clock it higher? or could it be something else that is holding me back?

I am currently playing on one monitor at 1080p with 8 GBs of DDR3 ram i my psu is the corsair TX 650 80+

I also noticed when checking with GPU-Z that my card is jumping between 500-900 GPU Core clock even though it does not go past 60 Celcius so i feel that the temprature should not be an issue.

Your CPU, while dated, isn't terrible for current games...having said that, though, you could benefit from an upgrade considering that you're running a GTX 780.

If you can overclock higher, I would do that first and see what you get in terms of performance gains. Your CPU running around 4.2-4.4, or so, should be getting to about where the 3570k is at stock in terms of performance.

I tried running Metro 2033 at max setting while check the CPU in the task manager and check the gpu in GPU shark.

The cpu was at around 40-60 % usage and my gpu was between 92-98 % usage, does this mean that i dont have a bottleneck? And that my GTX 780 Just is not powerful enough? the game was running at around 40 FPS
