Can i buy a new ram?

I already got a 4gb A-data ddr3 ram and i want to buy the one stick 8gb gskill ripjawsx can i buy and use both the rams in the same time and will they work ?? My mobo is 880gm-e41

It's not a good idea to mix DRAM, it can be problematic, even sticks of the same exact model...it's always best to get a single package of the amount of DRAM you want - that way you get sticks that have been tested to work together, and are programmed (for XMP) for that set and number of sticks, as advanced timings will differ from a single stick to a two stick set to a four stick set.... This is primarily why say a 4 stick set costs more than 2 two stick sets, it's harder to put together 4 sticks that play nice than it is to find two that will play together.....Tolerances in DRAM are so tight and exacting (especially in higher freqs
they will work together as long as the timings are compatible. if there 2 different you will stress the memory managment unit and either damage the cpu or the ram (more likely the ram). you best bet would be to get another stick or 2 of the adata ram you already have. as long as its rated as dual channel you should have no issues. (again assuming its the same make, model, speed and latency).
