my network adapter isnt showing up under device manager for windows xp

i have all the drivers on a disk but somehow cannot figure out how to get the nic drivers onto my computer. inside the "nic" folder there is an expandable folder and a zipped file..... i cannot for the life of me figure it out help please!

What is the make and model of the adapter??

Have you tried unzipping it to the desktop??

The disc might be scratched, if it is not you might have to create an iso image of your cd and extract the files from there to your desktop

First you need a free program called imgburn, its free the link is http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=Download , once its installed click create image file from disc. Then click the button at the bottom left and it will create an iso file. Now you have to download an archiving program so you can extract the files from the iso (i recommend 7-zip). Open your iso with your archiving program and copy the zip file with the drivers in to your desktop and then extract the files from the zip file :)
