So, for the past 2 weeks, i have been having some trouble with my internet dropping out on occasions, maybe 4-5 times a day, sometimes less. It last for 10-20 min.

What happens is the "Internet" lamp starts to glow red, DSL is still green. And when i log onto the modem is says "P-2601HN-F3 is disconnected from the internet, please check WAN settings or contact your ISP", then if i check on Connection status > system info > Wan 1 (ADSL WAN1) got no ip adress or IP subnet mask. i have tried changing modem, same deal with the new one.

When the net goes down and i try to search the web, i get the usual "cant connect to internet"
But after 15 min after internet have been down, i get this thing when i try to search something: http://imgur.com/3VyBv6s

Does this sound like something is wrong with the settings? or is the cable broken?

Hard to say, it could be the connection or the modem. I had similar symptoms this summer and finally just bought a new modem, which solved the issue. While the modem was only a year old, more research showed that it had heat issues and rarely lasted much longer.

I would probably first contact the ISP and ask them to check your connection. If you have a place that you can buy a new modem and return it for some period, it would be worth trying that out.
