My hdd failed and my personalized recovery disks will not boot the machine to restore/reinstall my operating system. I need a replacement set specific to compaq f756nr.

Solution

I would try asking any friends that my happen to have a copy of vista (old computer laying around) or other ways to get a copy that I cannot specify on this forum. best of luck
don't know why u would reinstall vista. I would recommend going to windows 7. anyways
1. did u make sure to go into ur bios and change ur boot order so cd drive is before hard drive
2. make sure boot by cd is enabled in bios(if it shows an option for it.)
3. have the correct disk in. (disk 1 is not always the boot disk sometimes its the last one)
4. if that fails find someone with an OEM vista disk (not an upgrade version) reinstall using it ( u wont have all the other extra software that came with it so u will have to download all the drivers from support site). You would have to do it this way as looking at the support site they don't sell the recovery disk anymore for it.
5. Good luck hope u get the issue solved.

Thanks for your prompt response. I tried booting from all 3 and no luck. My problem is who to trust of those who want to sell me the oem disks on the web. I want to restore the computer as much as possible to original state and do not want to upgrade. And I kind of like Vista. Thanks again.
