Guys,

Another strange situation. I needed to update my BIOS after a CPU upgrade. I had never done this before but read up on it and it looked easy. I downloaded the correct version to my hard drive, rebooted into bios, selected Flash, selected hard drive and the system said no hard drive found. I tried to ESC out of it but could not. I could find no way out. There was a selection <F10> to turn off. I did that.

Now when my system boots up I get a message like "Input Signal out of Range - Change Screen Resolution to 1920X1080. After a few seconds the windows screen appears and all is Ok.

So, I no longer see any of the start up screens or selections to enter BIOS, Safe Mode ect. After a few seconds the first display is the Win7 Welcome Screen.

This is a new one on me.

Thanks!

Solution
Looks like the UEFI is somehow trying to use a different resolution/ hz settings than the ones supported on your monitor.

If you haven't started the BIOS flashing at all, then it should be safe to clear the CMOS and see if that fixes the problem.

I turned the thing off before I went to bed last night. Turned it on this morning and......all is ok.

Everything displays as it should. Maybe it just needed a good nights sleep.

Thanks for the response.
