I am here to build a gaming PC when December hits. I will be mostly gaming and slight running virtual machines. I will overclock when I want more performance and will pick a CM Hyper 212 Evo afterwards.

What do you think as my first build?

What will be the future is this FX processor in the next 2-3 years? I want to know if its still worth it to get an FX today because Steamroller may come out in the next 6 months or so.

Thanks.

Solution
This is a solid build, i would personally get an SSD but it's your choice. Since the amd athlon series is still around today you don't need to worry about the 6300 becoming out of date.

Thank you. Yes, definitely an SSD when 256GB will go down ~$150.

Guys can you suggest a ATX case with good air flow and cable management for under $75. I'm eyeballing the Cougar Challenger Case.

Also I want to hear your thoughts to my build (max of $1000CAD + monitor) and to my questions in the OP. Thanks.
