I want to know what do you think I should get the fx 6300 or the core i3 4130, the fx 6300 has better gaming performance but with the 4130 I can upgrade to a core i5 later and I can make a hackintosh. I have a mac at home so I know how to use OS X.

More about : 6300 core 4130

Well the i3 definitely has a better upgrade path for sure. But the 6300 would perform better now, and the 8350 is no slouch for a future upgrade. It's all up to you.

Almost every single intel cpu is far superior than any amd in this game. Other benchmarks always has most Intel cpus at the top, never a amd. Amd is far too many generations behind. Just look at the benchmarks, there is no contest in games.

If I go with intel I was looking at the g3220 because HT doesnt really help in gaming, what do you think?

true.

though you know those cpu charts are based on 3 games, 2 of which are intel optimized titles. The difference is not that great. I've had this discussion before with the THG editors and writers... i get both sides of the argument i think we should just aproach it for what it is.

A nice general ranking.

General being the key term. If he's playing bf4 he will want the fx6300, it will kill an i3... if he's playing crysis3 he will want the fx6300, it will pace an i5, and beat down an i3. If new games are going to be multithreaded then down the road he's going to want the fx6300.

Generally speaking the reason why people suggest the fx6300 over pretty much every i3 out there is because it's cheaper, has MOAR CORZ! and even in single threaded performance is fast enough to get you 60fps in any title at 1080p resolution (if you're looking at an i3 or fx6300 you aren't going to be gaming at higher resolutions then 1080p).

I'd take an fx6300 over an i3 for a gaming system. any i3. unless that person is gaming in solidly single threaded titles like MMOs (any mmo) or the Total War series.

imho personal preference comes into play at that point.

I want to play crysis 3, bf4 and newer games so the fx 6300 would be better for newer gaming?
