Hi all,

I recently built a pretty good PC (with the intention of photo/video editing and possible gaming).
I am not much of a gamer, but I have a PS3 and really enjoyed playing Skyrim, Uncharted 2 and 3.
Didn't care much for MSG4 or MW2. I want to get into PC gaming.

What are some games that have excellent graphics, good story, and fun to play.

Here is my system:
CPU: Intel i7-4770k
CPU Cooler: Hyper EVO 212
MOBO: ASUS Gryphon Z87
GPU: Sapphire HD7870 2GB OC GHz Edition
PSU: SeaSonic 550W Gold Cert. Modular
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
OD: LG 24X DVD RW
OS: Win7 Pro 64-bit
CASE: Fractal Design Define Mini

Thanks Mopkap.

Is it possible to use a PS3 controller with PC games (can it be connected to the PC via USB)? I just hate using the keyboard and mouse to play games. Or once I get into PC games, am I stuck with the keyboard and mouse and just have to learn how to use them?
Or maybe, once I get used to them, it'll be alright.

There is probably a way, but it would be way easier to buy an Xbox controller (wired) and use that. Because Xbox is owned by Microsoft and so is Windows so they work perfectly together. :)

Yeah, you need to download a program called MotionInJoy. Pretty easy to set up. Also, Crysis 3 isn't a must have.

You said 5 so I will take 5:

Battlefield 4
Bioshock Infinite
Counterstrike Global Offensive (make sure you play on a local server for best pings)
The Elder Scrolls Online
Rome Total War 2

Now for games that you don't have to have but it'd be nice if you did:
The list is a bit longer:

Guild Wars 2

Lord of the Rings Online *

World of Warplanes, World of Tanks **

League of Legends *

Dota 2 *

Star Wars the Old Republic *

Team Fortress 2

Ghost Recon (new release coming soon)
Rainbow Six (new release coming soon)
Brothers in Arms (new release coming soon)
Splinter Cell

Sim City (if you're into that sort of thing it is fun sometimes)

Assassin's Creed (I am sure you have played them)

Far Cry 3

Max Payne 3

GTA V (which will come out in a year or 2 hopefully)

Half Life (not sure if you have ever played 2 but it's good, there is a mod that redid the graphics)

Deus Ex Human Revolution (There is a mod made by the same guys as HF2 that improved the graphics)

Bioshock (the rest of them)

Then you get racing games like:
Grid 2
Test Drive Unlimited 2
there are so many games man.

PS. a few on my longer list are completely free so you really have no excuse to try them out marked them with *'s ;)

i actually use my PS3 controller for PC gaming, i like the Ps3 controller better than the xbox controller.. you need motioninjoy which is the driver for it and if you buy a compatible bluetooth adapter you can use it wirelessly too

I just started pc gaming as well and I tried using motioninjoy+xpadder but had a lot of problems with some games. I ponied up the $12 for an off brand xbox controller and am very very glad I did.

So far I've spent most of my time playing Crysis 2 and Skyrim. I've already created myself a nice backlog on Steam and am looking forward to Fallout New Vegas as it's new to me. Games I had on 360/ps3 but already purchased for pc are: Deus Ex, Sleeping Dogs, and the Max Payne bundle. I started playing Max Payne 1 last night and even though the graphics and gameplay are dated as hell I still love that game.

If you guys want a fun game try Enter the Matrix, Path of Neo (very old but classics none the less) quite fun too really...

Skyrim, Oblivion on PC because of mods...
Command & Conquer (releasing soon, it will also be F2P)

I would have said Company of Heroes 2 but in reality it's a big let down compared to the first I mean the vehicle cap is way too high after like their second patch.

(I wish steam games had an option to tick that if you don't play a certain game on Multiplayer they don't patch your game, yet you are still online for achievements ect.)

Because they really nerfed that game to shit, but go try the original Company of Heroes it's a blast.

Also mod every game you have including GTA's the replay value in modded games are really astounding!
