Hi, I was wondering if it would be ok if I used a normal 80mm fan on the back of my cpu socket because my vcore1 and get very got when its at just 50% load. I am using a fx08350 cpu and a h60 water cooler I took one fan off because all it was doing is putting dust right in the radiator. my cpu temps are 34-37C on idle and vcore1 is 40-44C on idle and then 36-43C on cpu 50% load (bf3 multiplayer 64player) and vcore 1 is 46-51C. I am using the ASUS Sabertooth r2.0 am3+ 990FX board. The case is the original NZXT phantom, it looks like I could just zip tie the fan to the back because the back of the case has the notches in the right places. I've heard it drastically reduces tempatures, I obviously don't want to short circuit anything.

If it was me in this situation I wouldn't worry too much about it. An 8core processor is sure to generate a decent amount of heat, but the temps you are stating aren't anything to be worried about. Although if you are dead set on it, more power to you!

no, I would like to put it behind the motherboard. I have all the fans this case can mount. I have the radiator with the 1 corsair SP120mm fan on the rear near the I/O

If you are talking about the hole behind the CPU socket on the motherboard tray, that is for accessing the mounting points on the motherboard for large CPU coolers. I'm not sure what squeezing a fan back there would even accomplish.
