Hi there guys I just had a few questions. I am about to make my first build this month and plan on using it for hardcore gaming and photo editing. I want to go with a black and red theme which is why I choose the maximus vi formula. My question is if there is any way this build can be improved and or any suggestions you guys can give me. Also I'll be playing on one 1080p monitor but later on I will be gettimg two more. So heres the parts, any help appreciated. Please try to keep it under $2500.
thanks

Solution
Everything looks super solid. The 280x is a fantastic card for the price.
The one thing I would change would be your PSU. There is nothing wrong with it, but it could be a little bigger for a high-end build that I'm assuming is going to be overclocked.
Here is my recommendation.
Power Supply: XFX ProSeries 1050W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($179.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $179.99.

As far as peripherals, I can only recommend what I own or what I have used. I have a Logitech G700 mouse, which I love to death. It's a great mouse.
For a keyboard, I have a Cooler Master QuickFire TK with red switches. Also love that thing to death. The backlight is super cool, and I love the feel of red switches...

However, I hear that brown switches are generally the best for gaming. I think the only way you can tell is to actually try out a keyboard that has them.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions

Sorry I didn't respond faster. Didn't have access to the interwebs. For the money vs. performance, I would stick with the r9's. Nvidia does have a history of being a better card for photo editing, but I don't know how well AMD's new cards will do. I didn't immediately find anything to answer that question very well. Based just on benchmarks though, the r9 280 is a really good card for the money.
