i built a pc earlier this year and had no problems until i decided to add a second 7850 to the mix i originally purchased a 1 gig ddr hd 7850 and had no issues until last week i ordered a second 7850 this time a 2 gig card. i put the 2 gig in place of the 1 gig as to the main card location and installed the second card the 1 gig in the corresponding crossfire slot on my mobo i hadent yet received the crossfire cable to connect them but used my pc like normal running off the new card although the second card was installed. had a few issues where the graphics would just shut off and the tv would say no signal im not sure as to if the whole card was shutting down or just an error and losing signal i figured the second dummy card may have been causing the issue. anyhow i received the crossfire cable installed it enabled crossfire and everything seemed to be a ok for a couple days no issues then it started doing it again tv says no signal computer still on everything seems to be working i still haven't confirmed if the whole graphics card shuts off or if the signal just gets lost???? i just removed the 1 gig card to run just the new 2 gig and see if the problem persists if anyone has any ideas as to the problem or a solution they would be appreciated i also should add that to get the display backon i have had to reset or power down by holding the power button to shut down and usually i restart once and still get no signal but if i allow enough time for windows to load usually a couple minutes then repeat the hard shutdown it reboots and i get my display back but for how long who knows ive tried to monitor heats and ram usage as best i can when this occurs and havent noticed anything out of the ordinary temps run around 35 to 40 degrees Celsius

And now after removing the secondary 1 gig card altogether which was the original card i bought after a while it shut the display off again this time i looked at the card the fan was still running so i assume the card was still on and powered i just switched back to running only the 1 gig card to see if the problem persists but i can only guess there is an issue with the new card i received

Well bad news for me original card the 1 gig is in was working good for a few hours but it just did it again display just shut off everything seemed to be operational just no output to the display..... soo anyone with ideas or suggestions im at your mercy

Good news!! I have finally solved the issue. I am posting for others who may come across this issue. When I installed my new card swapping position of the old card I did not clear the cmos. I dug and prodded several forums trying to find a solution and this one worked for me. So I took out both cards and did a cmos clearing with the jumper then put both card in where I wanted them. Did awesome and no more signal drop. I have since went ahead and did a bios update too...couldn't hurt.
