My current planned system, can you see any unnecessarily extravagant components?

Hi,

My original budget has gone up in smoke: I've got the current parts on hold at a local MSY store, I get the feeling the build is a little extravagant in places... It's going to be a family pc also used for part time gaming but I want it to last a few years. All components are from MSY (awful website!) and all prices is AUD

Ok here goes,
Asus Z87 Pro Mobo $275
Intel i4770 cpu $349
2G GTX760 MSI gpu $319
Kingston HyperX 120G SSD $119
Seagate SATA3 2Tb HDD $95
SATA DVD RW $20ish
16Gb 1866 patriot viper green RAM $190
Thermaltake 650W smartpower PSU $95
USB3 Commander MS-II Case $58
Benq 2ms 24" monitor $179
Windows 8.1 64bit pro OEM $155
Office Home/student $124

Comes in around $1980, Please can you comment on this system and tell me if I have gone over board in any area's, particularly with regard to over specifying in places that won't make any difference because of bottle necks elsewhere in the system. I'd love to save a bit and get more bang for buck :)

Thanks for looking/ reading any advice will be much appreciated!

Solution
Use an i5 4670k
There must be cheaper Z87 chipset motherboards
You do not need even 8 gig of RAM for gaming , but a 2 x4 gig kit is probably the sweet spot . More wont be useful .
Thermaltake power supplies are usually awful . Maybe they make some quality models , but I'd rather have a corsair , seasonic , antec
Ditch MS office and use Open Office

Thanks for the feedback, this build is based on advice from a friend - he is always high end with PC's and uses them for lots of video work, perhaps I'll down grade to the i5 and 8Gb ram as you've suggested - I get the open office suggestion but as my kids will be using it for homework I think I'm lumbered with the office package :-/ I'll have a look at maybe using the savings on a better PSU. If there are any recommendations on a suitable less expensive mobo i'd love to hear them :)

Hi,

Looks like I've chaved a couple of hundred $ off so far! Can anybody suggest a good mobo - I was underthe impression this is an area you don't go cheap on but having read an article I see times have changed and that cheaper mobo's can easily handle the other hardware... shows how out of touch I am :)
