remedy for recognizing hard disk after formatting

I formatted my Hard disk as it got corrupt. later when i started win xp setup the HD was not getting recognised . when I connected my HD to my friends PC I found it recognised it
Later I bought a new HD & connected it to my PC & its working but my old HD still has issues kindly give me a sugestion. HD was formatted from control panel - Disk management
its a 160gb HD sata. p4pachu@gmail.com

Was it corrupted during any particular process? Is it an older HDD? Could be that it's just reached the end of its life.

If you can connect it to your friends computer and it is recognized, you can try having that computer format it and see if that works.

The issue lies in your psu , Hard drives require extra power near the end of their life cycle , If you are already short on watts and using an old PSU , you will get this problem , Try using a different PSU if you have one
