FHD laptop resolution only up to 1366x768

My dell e6510 was reinstalled and the resolution is now only 1366x768. The device manager says the monitor is only a generic pnp monitor. Any suggestions for resolving this? Thanks.

Try downloading the most recent nVidia drivers from Dell's website.

In general, many laptops needs customized drivers from the brand name (Dell, HP, etc.) so installing generic nVidia / AMD drivers may not allow the graphics chip to function properly.

Hi, my mistake, I forgot to list all the steps attempted:

1. Installed all Windows updates and patches.
2. Downloaded latest Nvidia device drivers
3. Downloaded all Del devices drivers, expanded features pack, OS deployment patches from Dell.

Any other suggestions?

Ah, thanks all. The LCD display was swapped from the original shipped HW config. By default the OS can detect and if the OS says native resolution is HD, then it truly is only 1366x768. Cheers.
