I have a Motorola modem which is connected to a Verizon Actiontec MI424-WR Rev. I. I cannot seem to get port forwarding configured what so ever. I have a Raspberry Pi on port 8080 that I want forwarded to. I know that I'm setting it up correctly, but every time I use a port checker tool, it states that the port is closed. I know that ISP block certain ports, but I don't think that is the case. I think the problem lies within the modem/router configuration. Thanks in advance.

Print screen your rules and upload them, ill tell you whats wrong. I assume you're going to whatismyip.com
to find your public IP, then going to a site like http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and putting that IP in along with the port.

If it say's it's closed, and you're confident about your configuration, I'd be sure it's a firewall on the computer itself. If you go to the router, you could check on the security log button to see if it says that the request was blocked once you used the open port checker. If it wasn't blocked, then it's a problem on that computer itself (i.e. the rasberry pi)
