I don't have a clue what i am doing when it comes to this. Id like to update my graphics card and Power supply if needed. Willing to spend $300-350.

Current Specs
CPU : AMD FX (tm)-4130 Quad Core
MOBO : MSI 760GM-P34(FX)
RAM : 8G DDR3
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GT 610
PSU: XtremeGear 600W

Was looking towards the Radeon HD 7950.. Any Help would be appreciated

760 and 7950 are almost neck to neck, but if you ask me i'll chose 760 and for PSU go with corsair or antec 500 or 550w

are both cards compatible with my motherboard? and what i have? i know the 7950 says it needs 500W so will that be enough with even the 550W PSU?

Yes, they are compatible, and wen you will be doing some extensive work on your pc, the wattage will not go over 250, so 550 is enough.

I wouldn't worry too much about replacing the PS. the one you have might be good enough. just get the card and see how things go.
