Intel 2 Quad Core 3.0 Ghz question

Go to your BIOS and load the optimized defaults, afterwords, save and exit. When you boot into Windows, install CPU-Z and check the clock speed of your CPU, if it's not 3.0 GHz, go in the BIOS again and manually change the CPU host frequency to 333 MHz and the multiplier to 9, if the optimized defaults didn't already set the values like that.. If that still doesn't help, try loading a very heavy application and see on CPU-Z if the clocks change while it's running (the Core 2 Duo E8400 of one of my friends automatically boosts its clock to stock speeds when something heavy is running).

Don't worry, when you called an Intel Core 2 Quad an "Intel 2 Core Quad" I'm sure they realised that.

The thing is, if you don't know much about CPUs, I wouldn't recommend trying to overclock one.
