How do I set boot drive?

I've just installed 2 new HHD's and when I reboot the PC I'm not given the choice of OS (I have 2 installed). It starts the OS installation as if I don't have an OS there at all. The only way I can get Windows to launch as before is by selecting the "Boot Options" on startup and manually choosing the drive.
I've looked at lots of pages online and most say to change the boot order in BIOS, which I've done, but it doesn't help.
Please help :??:

Setup:
/C: with Win 7 (not using this OS)
/D: Storage
/E: Storage
/L: Partition on /E: with Win 7 (using this OS)
+ 2 new drives that I haven't formatted yet

The C drive was on its way out. It was no longer possible to play online in a game installed on it. Had to shift to a functioning drive. Just having it detected was causing problems.

Anyway, I've fixed it. I "sort" of know how, but it doesn't quite make sense now....
I thought the boot doc was on the C drive, so I moved it's priority up in the boot order, and it started to work fine.
Thing is, I had to take one of the new drives out (I'd put the wrong one in) and when I started up again with the correct drive in, neither were detected. I unplugged the C drive and used the cables to connect one of the new drives, and presto! both drives appear, AND it still booted properly.
So I'm just confused, but not really caring much, cos it's working :heink:
