Hi guys,
I've been facing a problem recently. I have a new motherboard (Gigabyte G41M combo) and a new graphics card (ATI HD 6670 1 GB DDR5) along with core 2 quad Q8400 and 4 gb of DDR2 RAM. The problem is my computer starts restarting when I play games (like LA Noire or Farcry 3) but otherwise works fine. Last day it froze for a few seconds when I was browsing. Is my PSU failing? Or is my AMD drivers crashing (I have the latest stable ones)? Problem persists when doing a fresh windows 7 or windows 8 install. Speccy shows the following voltages:
CPU CORE 1.072 V
MEMORY CONTROLLER 1.952 V
+3.3V 3.248 V
+5V 5.000 V
+12V 1.280 V
-12V (12.352) V
-5V (8.512) V
+5V HIGH THRESHOLD 3.575 V
CMOS BATTERY 3.136 V

Is this a PSU issue? Maybe not enough watts or too much ripple. One thing you can do is make sure you clean everything. Could be a short from debris (probably not) or check your reset button connector. You may also be able to under-clock your CPU or GPU very slightly to take some load off the PSU.
