GPU Brand choice

So I'm building a new rig, and with the recent (epic) price drop of the gtx 780, I'm planning on buying one in a few weeks. As of today, on newegg (the retailer I will buy from) there are a few cards under 510 that I am considering.

Now the gigabyte card is the one that I'd really like to get, as it clocks are just better, but I really just have no idea when it comes to the branding of gpu's, as this is my first self built rig.

What brands are better than others? Is the only difference in them their prices?

Clock speed difference may amount to around 5% difference which at 60fps is 3fps, it can be made up with user OC on the slower card and most likely both cards will reach the same sealing on OC.
Rig looks good.

As I said though, I'm fairly new to this. Here is what I would get if I were order today.

So from what you guys say, go with the evga based on support, but is that really worth the trade off in clock speed.

As you picked a K version processor, I bet u will overclock your cpu. You can do that with ur vga as well, so clock problems solved.

I personally like reference cards because most of them vent air out of your case instead of inside it. You can of course fix this by having adequate ventilation, and it will be quitter with non reference cards too. If your planning on overclocking though, I would read up a bit on how good reference cards clock compared to others.

I will overclock my cpu eventually, and same goes for my gpu, but I want that to be as far off as possible. I understand that in time, it will be necessary in order to keep my system up to par, but for now I would like to avoid that. Also, I have a bit of a dummy question; I have a 500 gig 7200 rpm hdd that I'm using on my current laptop, if I reformat it, will I be able to plug it in to my new build as a slave and have it function properly. I assume so, but just want to be double sure.

EDIT: And if I'm not going to overclock yet, will the stock cooler do me just fine, and what about thermal paste? Do I need to buy any, or does it come with some good stuff?
