Can anyone help me by mentioning the Driver's version for MSI GTX 660 Ti to play the battlefield?

Or, which driver version can i use to play latest games including ''Battlefield 4'' without Burning the Graphics Card by overheating?

My 660 is overheating so early while playing any rich graphics games and upto 75 deg. I can't touch my fingers for more than two seconds on the two rectangular chips located on the back of the Card for extreme temp while playing.

Is it ok?

Ok to answer some questions ( I have a Stock EVGA 660 ti 3gb SC edition) I started having the overheating issue when battlefield got the second update AFTER the initial one after install AND after the 331.58 update. I came searching for a reason as to why when I play The Witcher 2 and Battlefield 4 my GPU skyrockets to as much as 84c (Witcher 2)!!! I never seen that number, not even on Heaven.Usually while playing any other stressful game under load like Borderlands 2 maxed out or Metro: Last Light I only see a max of 78. My fan profiles are good and all of the hardware is good too. So my suspicions were correct, it IS the drivers for my Witcher 2 problem, and its a combination of DICE coding and drivers for Battlfield 4. Hope my...

75 degrees isn't too hot. I have a GTX 680 that gets to 85+ and it will sit at that temp perfectly fine. There are things you can do to help lower temps which we can go through.

Also the driver which you pretty much have to use for BF4 is 331.65 as that is the only driver with optimisations for that game.

@ Mousemonkey: Yes, i m using the latest 331.65 WHQL. No, this temp is almost for every games. But, some other games "like FarCry 3" is stopping and causing the pc to restart.

Is this a bug from the FarCry? or, because of the overheating of the GPU?

@Optimus_Toaster: ""There are things you can do to help lower temps which we can go through.""-can u suggest me a little bit more?

Rumors are everywhere that Nvidia's latest drivers are causing the GPU's overheating and frying. Is the 331.65 WHQL safe in ragards of that?

75c is not overheating. the chips on the back is ram, you should never touch any part of electronics when the power is on, you can damage them. If your pc is restarting its more likely a psu problem, or faulty ram. Overheating generally results in graphical corruption or driver error, cpu overheating normally results in shutdown. Make sure you have at least one good 80mm or larger exhaust fan at the upper/rear of your case to draw out hot air. A fan bringing in cool air from the lower/front if your case has fan mounts there will aid in creating a good direction for airflow to keep components cool, but exhausting the hot air is more important.

If you are worried about GPU temperatures you can use a piece of software called MSI afterburner to monitor them in game. You can also alter the fan curve of the graphics card so that it spins a bit faster and therefore stays cooler.

iam2thecrowe mentioned that it could be your CPU overheating and with afterburner you can set the On screen display to show CPU temperature and usage in game. Therefore you'll be able to see how hot it gets.

Oh but today was odd, after this high temp situation, I go to test Borderlands 2 to see how hot it got and it only went up to 67c, odd for me, usually it would at LEAST hit 72c.

Sorry for the late, and a lot of thanks for your responses.

I tried My ""MSI GTX 660 Ti PE "" on a previous gen Motherboard, Ram set & Processors by rendering a short video on Lumion 3.1. The render time was 32mins, and every time just after hitting the render button, the pc was rebooting.

In this test, I tried with both sets of RAM, but same result (it was Rebooting).
Motherboard was changed, but still rebooting.
Processor was changed, but still rebooting.
I was using the Driver 304.87 provided by MSI. then I installed driver 331.65, but problem remains.

Then, I replaced the 660 with the ""Nvidia GTS 250"" the prob is gone.......!!!!! Couple of hours and still it is rendering with Lumion with no reboot.

I suspected that, the power supply unit is the reason behind the restarting. (Altough it was Thermaltalke Smart 850W), but now, it is seeming problem with the graphics unit 660 Ti.....
