Hi guys.

I have 2 4GB Corsair Vengeance Ram modules running in dual channel on a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Motherboard.

The RAM is running at 1333mHz rather than it's advertised 1600mHz and I'm not sure why as the MB can take speeds of up to 1866mHz.

I have attempted to manually change the clock speed of the RAM to 1600mHz in the BIOS but this results in boot-up failures.

I understand that clock speed on RAM doesn't make that much of a difference but I payed for 1600mHz not 1333mHz, any help or advice on how to make it run at it's proper speed would be hugely appreciated, thanks.

Your mobo has support for 1333+ (O.C.)/1066 MHz memory modules. So there is the problem. U need to buy new mobo, if u want 1600Mhz.

Thanks for a quick reply, this means I assume that I'd have to up the voltage to get it to run at the correct speed, something I'm not 100% comfortable on doing unless I was certain it'd be safe.

Do you think the Corsair RAM would take well to a little higher voltage since it has those massive heatsinks?

If not I suppose I'll just leave it at the current speed, clock speed doesn't mean all that much anyway I heard.

Better not try to fryin it. If u wont buy new mobo, just let them on 1333Mhz. Have fun!
