Hey all,
I'm starting a new build, so need bit of help. Would you recommend this drive from asus
http://www.dabs.ie/products/asus-drw-24f1st-internal-dvdrw-24x-oem-90F2.html

The product is an OEM so I believe it comes without any cables. Could you please tell me what cable/cables I need, and if you could provide a link that would be super.

Also, I'm unsure as to what I must connect the drive to. Is it to both the mobo and the psu, or just the mobo, and how many cables will I need. BTW I will be using the pc primarily for gaming, so I have purchased just a mobo and all the essentials. Here is the motherboard I'm getting: http://www.dabs.ie/products/gigabyte-z87x-ud3h-s1150-intel-z87-ddr3-atx---free-m8000x-high-performance-laser-gaming-mouse-bundle-91GG.html
Many thanks for your interest in my post.

yes if you go to any local computer store they should be able to give you a SATA data cable for cheap. you need to plug the SATA data cable from the dvd r into your motherboard. just look for the words sata on your motherboard or a connection that looks similar. the cable will only fit into the right place so you dont have to worry about it too much.

Ok thanks, so the drive needs to be connected to the mobo by a sata cable, and to the psu with a power cable? Do you think the psu will have the necessary power cable connection supplied, to connect to the drive. Tnx )
