Hi all,

my old computer just died and I need to get a new computer either pre assembled or put it together myself my budget is $400.

This is my previous build and I'll be using the GPU and HDD as 2nd drive to keep all my files from it.

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L rev 2.0
PSU: OCZ 600W
Ram: 4GB (2x2) ddr2 ram 1066
CPU: e8400 core 2 duo (3.0ghz stock)
OS: windows 7 64 bit
GPU: GeForce Gtx 460
HDD: 2TB sata WD

My budget is $400 max because I wasnt expecting my mobo to die on me so now I got to replace my parts fast. Shipping is expensive for me since I live in hawaii but I'd like to hear some thoughts from you guys :) .

I'll mainly be doing video editing/rendering with sony vegas and high gaming but not ultra just 60+fps in wow.

i5's are better than any AMD CPU you can find. Also 400-500w is good enough for your GPU and running a system with these components. I have a 770 using a 750w PSU could SLI it and still have plenty of power. RAM stayed within Corsair family I love my vengance ddr3 memory corsair's stuff is solid always treated me right. I believe I went with smaller mobos considering you would only need 1 PCI slot for that pretty nice card oh and gigabyte makes the best mobo's on the market. tried to stay under $350 if you needed to add a case or SSD I highly recommend an SSD but its your money. Again this is just my opinion on what you should get I just try to put myself in your shoes with your budget and what would be good the longest period of time when you get ready to upgrade. Anyways hopefully I helped any questions or comments Id be happy to answer. Have a good one.Just looked at the PSU you chose stick with that one there's plenty of room in the 2 options I gave you and still be under budget.

Thanks for your response night owl, If i hadnt already purchased my stuff 2 days ago on TG i probably would be looking at that. I got a full system upgrade and ill reuse my GPU and HDD as a secondary to retain my files and information.

bundle - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...
also this PSU to replace the one in the bundle - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...

I'll probably use my old case fans until I can buy some new ones. I see a deal on amazon for 4 120mm case fans for $15 and their coolermaster.

Geez how the halloween weekend flew by I didn't realize it had been 4 days since your post, lol. Im not a huge AMD fan I always try to keep up with them though I guess Im a wallflower type fan. Its just hard for me, considering that the 6100 is a 6 core cpu and can't beat out an i3 which is a duel core. BUT good news is I believe the AMD3+ socket is their newest one so whenever your ready to upgrade your golden. Smart thinking replacing the PSU. I love TDirect I can't stand Newegg they treat their customers like criminals. Just bought one of those blues 750GB for $41 on amazon last weekend my green has lasted me 5 yrs and is still perfect according to all the tests Ive ran on it. Im gonna have to get another AMD processor and give it a run in the near future. Anyways enjoy Salty!!

Everything cost me $457 plus shipping, tigerdirect was actually about $20-30 dollars cheaper on shipping than newegg and I also got 2 business day shipping so it will be here soon. Shipping on newegg was about $80+ dollars because I live in hawaii and everything for online shipping is usually more :( . Only thing is that motherboard in the bundle only supports max 95W so I wont be able to try 125w amd processors until I upgrade the board. I think in a year or two I can upgrade the board though which should be good and then buy a newer amd3+ socket or maybe their will be some higher end 95ws out who knows lol this will be my first full pc build.

Yeah I saw that wattage thing I thought Oh poo what a shame. I forgot this was your first good on ya at least you made it simple by getting a bundle and the more you screw around with it and put it together the smarter you'll become and know what you want for your next one or upgrades. You are on the right track noticing things like the wattage limit I wouldn't have done that on my first build. Keep up the good work, Hawaii huh? You just threw that in there to make me jealous ;)  Im from Tx where its either hot or its fixin' to get hot.
