Whenever I use a 360 controller (yes the drivers are installed), games minimize to my desktop constantly at random times. I have zero idea what's going on or how to read this, it's from Razer Gamebooster Analysis:

Just deactivate the xboxstat tool in msconfig - restart the PC & hope it will solve ur problems. Btw if thats not working, install the older driver comes with ur controller(that wont setup xboxstat tool).

How to get into/change msconfig:

1. Click the "Start" button.
2. Type "msconfig" in the search field to access msconfig utility and press "Enter."
3. Click the Startup tab at the far right.
4. Browse through the list of items after you click the Startup tab.
5. Uncheck the items you do not need to run at startup(for us this is the xboxstat).
6. Click the "OK" button when you are finished.
7. Click the "Restart" button to reboot your computer when prompted.

Have fun!

Tried both disabling xboxstat.exe from startup, as well as from task manager before I boot games. Problem still persists. Let me note this only seems to be happening in certain games, in other games it never happens. Never happened before when I was running my 560 Ti and normal keyboard and mouse, and older monitor. It also never happens when I only use the keyboard and mouse...

Anybody have any other ideas on how to fix this? A total reformat/reinstall IS NOT a option right now.

Bump, anybody have any other ideas on how to fix this aside from a reformat/reinstall. The full diagnostic is there so hopefully somebody can help me pin down this issue.

I don't know if this works for you, but I have had problems with games minimizing as well. (I don't have a controller btw).

Via Task Manager I always close programs that aren't necessary for gaming and my problems have almost disappeared. I am almost certain that the conime.exe file is responsible for the minimizing issue. Closing it before playing is what I recommend. (It seems to be non-vital for your pc)

Hopefully this file is the one responsible for your problems as well.

P.S. One side note: the file can (sometimes) reappear after a while in Task Manager. Although this rarely happens, checking it once in a while can't hurt.

I was having the same issue. I recently solved it for my personal situation. The problem was that Windows Error Reporting was getting errors from Intel Smart Connect and possibly other applications running in the background. I disabled the Windows Error Reporting service and have not seen the problem for over 2 hours of play time. Previously it had been about every 5 minutes.
