whenever i connect flash drives or memory cards on my laptop, all of its files turn into shortcuts. my laptop has a problem, i guess it's a virus, but whenever i run a full system scan on my laptop with my updated antivirus there is no virus detected.

You need to follow the steps in this helpful site http://www.techchore.com/2013/03/Flashdrive-Shortcut-Virus-and-two-2-methods-to-get-rid-of-it.html. In method 1 run each apps in your drive partitions respectively. in method 2 change the drive letter with your partition's drive letter one at a time.

You don't need all this. Just do the following. I DO NOT get anything for this website I used to download the software. I just found it because this dumb skype.vbs has ruined 5 USB sticks. So I got serious and found something that works, and it's easy to use.

Find a simple easy to use software program to ‘unhide’ all files. Then you will see everything on your usb drive, both that aggravating .vbs file + all files previously seemingly having disappeared. I used “hiddenfiles” from http://securityxploded.com/download.php#hiddenfilefinder and it worked perfect. Then I found all files previously hidden. Took a secure delete and smashed/ERASED the skype.vbs file now it’s gone and I can see all previously hidden files.
