Today was my birthday and I recieved a pny geforce gtx 650 graphics card as a gift. My question is that in small print on the box it says that iy requires an i7 while I have an i5. Would the chip set difference really matter? I have 24gb of ram and a 700 watt power supply. I am a little weary of installing it so I am posting here before I install or return and get a differnt one that will work (any advice is appreciated!)

Thanks.

Can you post a picture of that requirement? I have never even remotely heard of any graphics card requiring an i7 on the box. Honestly, a GTX 650 will run flawlessly with your i5, which is more than fast enough to not bottleneck your GTX 650 in any way. And you've got enough power for two GTX 650 graphics cards, so I really don't think your system is falling short on requirements.

Here is a link to the pictures. I did see in the small print that the minimum requirements were configured with a i7 processor that is 3.2ghz while my i5 currently has 3.4ghz

Ah, I see. That sentence is only a statement to clarify that the 400W minimum power requirement was derived from using a Core i7 CPU. The CPU power draw isn't usually as high as the GPU power draw, but it definitely still plays a factor in the overall required wattage. You would only have to worry about this if you're running a CPU with a high TDP, like the AMD FX-9590 for example, with a TDP of 220 watts compared to your i5's 80 or 90 watts. And besides, you have a 700W power supply, so even if you switch to something with a 220 watt TDP, you'd still be sailing smoothly. If your motherboard allows, you could add another GTX 650 down the road if you want more performance.
