I have a MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming ATX LGA1150 motherboard and have been using a wireless Asus USB-N10 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 adapter to connect to the internet. I would like to know if I could connect through the ethernet port instead. When I try it tells me I need a network adapter but I would think since there is an ethernet port that I already have what I need to connect. Maybe im having driver issues or something but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Solution
Check in the device manager, but it probably just needs the Ethernet (aka Killer Network Driver) adapter installed. You can download it HERE. Then you need an Ethernet cable to an LAN port on your router and you should be good to go.

Thank you for your response. Shortly after I posted my question I found and installed the killer network drivers from the disc that came with my mobo. I'm still not doing something correct because now I get an error message when I attempt to create a new connection. I will double check to make sure I have the ethernet pluged into the lan port now.
