Hard Drive boot issue

Hi there, so on my mobo i have my storage set to ide. I have 4 SATA devices hooked up. 1 - ssd, 1 - hybrid, 1 DVD rom drive, and 1 - 7200rpm hard drive. In bios when i specify it to boot from the Hybrid (The one i use primarily) it gives me the message improper boot device, when it has windows installed and working. if it is set to boot from the ssd - Not my primary (but an OS is installed on that one, i just don't use it) It boots from the hybrid, even though the only 2 boot devices specified in the boot list are my dvd rom drive and the ssd, the third is disabled. Why is it that it boots from my hybrid drive when its set to the ssd? I discovered this issue when i tried to remove the SSD and put it into another computer. When i remove the SSD it won't boot from the Hybrid at all. it just keep saying improper boot device. Even though windows is installed on it. and it is marked as a boot device. Another thing to note is that even though i have 2 bootable drives, technically. It does not ask me to choose which windows i would like to boot into. I would like to know if there is anyway that i can remove the SSD from my setup and have it boot from my hybrid drive without having to reformat, and reinstall windows. Additionally i dont know if this has anything to do with it but, I have a DRAM led on my Motherboard and it turns on (red) when i first turn on my computer and stays red for about 10 seconds then turns off.

Any help would be much appreciated. I can provide more info if needed.

Thanks :)

Solution
I think when you installed WIN you didn't unplug any drives, so the boot-loader has spread into two drives, thus giving you problem to boot-up with one drive not attached.

Yes there is away to boot from only the hybrid drive, but you have to do a repair-installation of Windows with a bootable media(DVD/USB). Then you have to get all updates for Windows, and that is a pain. All your programs, documents, games, etc. will remain intact. Good luck.
