Hy! Recently I bought an Asetek Fan Speed Controller, to control a fan with a 4-pin molex type connector. Asetek's connector is like the mothermoard's CHA_FAN connector(3-pin fan male). To connect these I modified a 4-pin molex to 4-pin floppy power cable(removed the yellow and one black wires, and changed the remaining black and red wires in floppy connector). But it is not working.

Any ideas? Thank You for your help.

Is there any significant difference between power and fan cable wires, can this cause the problem? I noticed that usually the fan wires are thinner. But i think metal is metal ...
Tried to connect with my home-made cable without the modified floppy connector, still nothing .

I guess because you've change the Molex connector itself there is no point in asking you if you tested it out on another molex output eh.....
It really would have been better to just buy a cheap adapter ... really.
