Hello!

I have a GA-Z87X-OC board.

I've connected the 24-pin, the 6-pin and the 4-pin.

However, there is another 6-pin connector on my board that says CPU. This is an OC motherboard, so it's extra CPU amps for extreme OC'ing.

Do i need to use this connector? I'm not going to OC anytime soon

I just need to know this and I'm good to boot for tha first time :)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

GA-Z87X-OC board has 1 x 8 pin & 1 x 4 pin. 1 x 6 you're talking about I guess its an OC PEG connector. It must be beneath the CPU socket right? And yeah you're without it don't worry.

Ok. I don't have a 6-pin CPU power cable, none came with my AX 760i PSU.

Btw, board has

- 1x 24-pin
- 1x 8-pin
- 1x 4-pin
- Optional 6-pin

Manual says this about that last connector:

"OC_PEG (PCIe Power Connector

The power connector provides auxiliary power to the onboard PCI Express x16 slots. When two or more graphics cards are installed, we recommend that you connect the 2x3 power cable from the power supply to this connector to ensure system stability"

So yeah it's optional. But on my board, it says CPU next to the connector. Is it for both CPU and PCIe slots?

Thanks for the help :)

I must have the wrong board as the one I linked doesn't have a 6pin plug. I'm guessing its a PCIe 6pin plug? Like for video card? I'd go with what the manual says. If you are using two or more, then use it. Manual, more so online, would be the most up to date info for the board.
