Hi, I would like to extend/improve the wireless part of my network and need some advice please.
I have Ethernet at the point where I need wireless and need to know what hardware I need to attach to the Ethernet cable to extend the wireless range, without the need to switch to a different network.
I have tried to do this by using a BT Home Hub 3 but seem to have failed as I do not get a wifi signal.
My wifi router is a BT Home Hub 4.

You can use a wireless router as an access point. Do a search for the how-to with the Hub 3. The basics for my router were plug the eithernet cable into one of the switch ports not the Wan, turn off DHCP on the router you're using as an access point, and set the ip address of the access point as a high number so the main wifi router doesn't assign that number to another device. I have done this in my home and it works great.

You can also setup both the router and access point with same name (SSID) on different channels so your devices will connect to the strongest signal automatically.
