Help with CPU cooling and case cooling

Hi!

I am going to build a new computer and I have decided which parts I want, except for two I unfortunately am not very knowledgable about - CPU cooling and case cooling.

I'm not going to overclock, but I thought that it could be good to have a better cooling solution anyway. It seems "standing" coolers, like the Noctua NH-D14, are better than "flat" coolers, like the stock Intel cooler (I don't know the proper terms, so I use "standing" and "flat" here). Though the thing is, I find the standing coolers to be too large. If I ever need to change anything in the case, I want better access to the parts and not having a big cooler in the way. Are there any small, standing coolers or are they all large, no exceptions? If they are all large and I have to use a flat cooler, which ones would be good alternatives? I've been looking at the Noctua NH-L9i but it's not recommended for my CPU since it has a TDP higher than 65 Watt, but would it then really be worse than the stock Intel cooler? Is perhaps the stock cooler good enough since I'm not going to overclock?

I've traditionally been inclined towards Arctic Silver 5, but is there a thermal paste that would be better to use? Some say Arctic Silver is best, some say that there are better alternatives, and yet some say that it doesn't really matter as long as I choose a good one.

I'm looking for two 120 mm case fans that will be in the front of the case. The case is an Antec Eleven Hundred, so should I get Antec's TwoCool 120 mm fans? Noctua's? Anyone else?

As you can see the CPU cooler is the biggest issue. I'd like one that is small, but it's acceptable if it's a little bit larger than the stock cooler. As long as it's not too large I guess it doesn't really matter if it's a standing or flat cooler. I'm not sure if I should look for Noctua, Antec, Cooler Master, or whoever.

I hope there is a solution to these questions. Thanks in advance!

I had a feeling that would be the case. It's just that I heard the stock cooler isn't performing very well, so if one can afford it, it could be good to get a better cooler.
