Hi, I have a really old PC with a Pentium D (I know - terrible CPU). But I have heard that Ubuntu can run on low end and crappy PC's. So i have 2gb RAM and a Pentium D - will it run 64-bit? Or do i have to get 32-bit?

Pentium D had the 64 bit instructions so it should work. if not you can still use the 32 bit version esp seeing as you only have 2GB of ram anyway

just with the amount of usable ram. 32 bit is limited and 64 bit is not

it's not a matter of what you can and cannot do. 64 bit mainly opens up registers in the cpu and enables more than 2GB of ram per application and 4GB system ram.
