I had the opportunity to test their Z77-GD65 Gaming board, and it is a sweet board. If the Z87 version of it is similar, you did not make a mistake at all.

If you intend to play games, you'll need a graphics card. If you want to overclock, you'll want an aftermarket cooler. For moderate overclocking, a 120mm tower-style cooler is sufficient. I use the Xigmatek Gaia myself, but its price recently got jacked. I'd still choose it over the Hyper212 family (which is louder, and not quite as good per reviews), but a cheaper, comparable equivalent now appears to be a model from NZXT.

its a Sapphire Toxic R9 280x 3GB 384bit OC edition.

Wont be oc'ing for now.
