Lightweight, compact computer to mount behind screen?

I'm needing to buy or build a new computer that I can stick on the back of my screen and get out of the way. This will be used for simple tasks, web browsing (including youtube), pulling up PDFs, general file management duties, and running a few lightweight server duties. To put things in perspective, my cheap little Raspberry Pi serves my Linux needs, but not good youtube playback and no Windows.

The only fixed requirements I really have are: should have wifi built in and HDMI out to connect to my monitor. I plan on running Windows and Ubuntu.

Low price is important to me, so if I can build a system cheaper I would consider that route. I've seen the Revo from Acer and it looks decent, but I was hoping to get something a little cheaper possibly.

Just make sure you space it out enough so it gets airflow, and you shouldn't have an issue. It does of course depend on your laptop but I have personally used my laptops as media center PC's with the lid closed for a very long time and nothing has come of it.

Honestly, your best bet is a laptop. It meets all of your needs and you get the added bonus of a battery backup and you can take it with you if you want. You can find decent laptops with specs much better than the Revo for under $400, and under $300 on a good day if you get an open box or refurb.

I suppose a netbook would be small enough as long as the cool was sufficient to be able to run with the lid closed and the thing mounted to the back of the screen.

I've got a fairly new laptop and the reason it wont work here is that I absolutely need to get the computer up and off the desktop.
