I am looking to get a gaming pc. My budget is up to about £500 . I have looked at http://www.meshcomputers.com/
And http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/
Can anyone suggest a good combination of parts and mabye some useful websites

Firstly, build it yourself for cheaper. It's a good learning experience, a lot more fun and you will be able to troubleshoot any problems you may encounter. I will try to come up with a build inside your budget, as I'm sure the other Tom's natives who read this thread will.

You could also swap out the 7950 for a 7870 and get an aftermarket CPU cooler.
Just based off logainofhades' suggested build.

I would rather not build it myself

So you'd prefer to get less performance for the same amount of money? why? Building a computer isn't that hard. seriously, you'll be amazed at the idiot proofing they did to the whole process. If you are really that nervous ask people you know to see if they can help you.

Honestly, you'll get a sense of accomplishment and pride for your pc, not too mention FAR better performance.
