if you're comfortable with opening it up:
Power it off completely, unplug it, take battery out, then open the panel for the RAM, and remove all the ram. Then with the battery still out, plug the power cord in, and push the power button, the computer should beep at you, because of having no RAM. If it does not, then something's wrong with Motherboard or Processor (there's a chance that Clearing the CMOS could help at this point)
to clear CMOS on MOST laptops:
unplug power cord, remove battery, HOLD power button for at least 15 seconds (usually 30 or more) this SHOULD clear the CMOS, then put everything back, and see if there's any change
