I'm trying to squeeze out a bit more life out of the two computers that I have so that I can play BF4 and/or CoD:Ghosts on decent settings a good FPS (40-60). Currently I can play BF4 on low settings at about 30 fps, but it can drop even more if there's a lot going on. Here's the info

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the month, may wait for Black Friday deals

BUDGET RANGE: A top end of around $300 if it's a good deal and can be used in a future build. If not, probably around $200-250.

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming mostly, BF4, CoD: Ghosts, some older games.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: ATI Radeon HD 4870 and Corsair 750TX 750W PSU

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: My main computer runs Windows 8.1 and has a AMD Phenom II 955BE and 8 GB of ram, I recently overclocked it to about 3.5 Ghz just to help out some. I'll probably look into overclocking it more this weekend. I also have my wife's computer that was built around the same time but with Windows 7 and a i7-920 with 6 GB of ram. It's not overclocked, but I would try to get it to around 3.5 ghz or so if I ended up using it. Both computers have good at the time motherboards and aftermarket air cooling. I can't remember the specific models at work.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg or amazon

PARTS PREFERENCES: I'm open to AMD or Nvidia

OVERCLOCKING: Yes. I don't want to mess with SLI or Crossfire though

MONITOR RESOLUTION:1920x1080

Those look nice, for the top end of my price range. What's a lower end card that will be about the best I can get without wasting performance due to my CPU being the bottleneck?
